Default 1.9 CDTi 150 no power when cold.

Leaving work the other day I misjudged the speed of another car approaching the roundabout so had to engage FUR mode (floor it and let traction control get me out of the way).

I avoided the car but I had to change gear a 4000rpm in first as the car had no power - normally the power is still coming in a 4000rpm.

Coming off the roundabout I had another play in 2nd gear to see if it was a once of and the same thing happend looses power at around 3500rpm and crawls to 4000.

Tired the same thing this morning when the engine was cold and the same thing happens. Once the engine is warm everything is fine.

I know the newer tuning boxes protect the engine when its cold but I didn't think the standard ECUs did this? Is this the case - I've not read anything about it - or is there something wrong under the hood

"some cars" suffer with sluggish altonators when cold so they hold back a little or misfire slightly ....this is normal for "some cars" and there isnt a fix for it some thing you will have to live with im sorry to say ... if some one on here or you know has a uptodate copy of tis they will be able to find a tech referance to it for you ......

i might be wrong - I'm sure someone will either confirm or correct me - but I thought the standard ecu gave protection when cold on the ecu.

Not that I've ever tried to get mine that high whilst cold but I'm sure i read it on this forum somewhere.
