Talking BSR PPC remap for cdti 150 First impressions

Well, I've finally got the remap installed after problems with the unit not reading the car. However I have to say that Justin at BSR has been really helpful and it's now working fine! I had to read the original map from the car and upload to BSR, then within the hour, they had made a file available for me to download to the PPC. I did this then plugged into the car

It's a rather nervous time when you're tuning the car, lights on the dash blinking, fuel computer doing strange stuff, but it took under 2 minutes to program it.

I noticed the difference right away, even gently accelerating in 1st. The dead spot below 1800 rpm was vastly reduced and you now can't tell when the turbo comes in when accelerating gently.

However, give it a bit more poke and it comes alive. The car just goes and goes, right up to the top of the rev range. Before, it would start to struggle over 4500rpm, but now it just keeps on going and keeps on pulling.

It hasn't made the car vicious or difficult to control, but has made it much more powerful and it now has noticably more torque. The speedometer now climbs so much faster it is unreal. I've not tried it on the motorway yet, but I can't see it being disappointing on that score!

If you want to drive gently though it can do that too. It has made it smoother when driven gently, more power under 1800rpm so less need to change down.

Overall, at this early stage, I'm very very happy with it

Quite fancy one of those, but a bit too pricey for me @ the mo. Love the idea of a remap with the old map available as and when.. and all without getting your hands dirty

Nice one, good to see some people are finally taking notice of these diesel maps.
This looks like THE best choice for CDTI drivers to me, a healthy dose of power without sacrificing any of the car's essential safety/driving aid systems.
    Way to go!
