Default 1.8 vvt clutch dealers comment

I have a Signum 1.8 vvt on a 56 plate.Telephoned the dealer today to book in for first service and warranty work. I have clutch judder, usually when cold. Dealers said that if it is the clutch plate then it is not covered by the warranty and if it judders on test and they dismantle the clutch and it proves to be the clutch plate then I must pay the full cost. Dealer said that they haven't come across this problem before. Also I have a rattling Hatch door Which is getting worse. Dealers said adjustments and lubrication isn't covered by warranty.
Surely things shouldn't come loose within the first year and surely a clutch should last for more than 9000 miles. I am very disappointed by Pentagon Derby's response. The most unhelpful dealership I have ever come across in 30 years of driving. In fact I am thinking of cancelling the first service and taking my car elsewhere. Can anyone recommend a dealership within travelling distance of Derby?

there is a VERY well known issue with the VVT clutch.. your dealer should contact VX technical and ask them about the judder.. there is a kit of modified parts avaliable to them to change so as to cure the issue.. it includes flywheel, clutch and cover..this will be done FOC under warranty..100% garuanteed....thou there is a backorder on the parts currently..if the dealer still play dim, call VX customer services and mention the juddering to them and ask that they arrange to have the car converted to the new parts....

the hatch door will either be the buffers or the latch.. both again known faults which only require the dealer to adjust the latch/buffers..

hope you get somewhere on this..

take it back to VX. or contact customer services and ask them to make a payment towards the job..they are doing work on these cars even out of warranty..

I had my clutch replaced at 2800 miles due to it juddering.Mines a 1.8 VVT. I just presented the dealers with printouts from this site and they couldn't say 'no' with all that evidence.

    Thanks 'vectra -c.com'
