    Default Road Noise

I get quite loud road noise between 30 and 40 mph, a sort of droning, a bit similar to that mentioned in this thread:http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31580.

My Vectra is only a year old though, with 22K miles, and is Auto.
It has the 18" 11-spoke rims with 225/45 Michelins on the front, Bridgestones on the back.

Do these symptoms suggest flat spots on the tyres, or can wheel bearing go wrong after such a low mileage? Or is it a 'feature' of Vectras?

Wheel bearings can go at any mileage m8 It could be that or more likely to be the Bridgestones. Loads of people on here have had them changed as they are so noisy

I had my front drivers side wheel bearing go at roughly 28k , so it could be that . although my dealer didnt beleive me until the bearing was realy making a drone

I would just dynamat the floor pans and rear arches, works a treat for minimising noise intrusion.

    uh oh....

I've had the same noise as everyone else......droning from the rear at 40-50, which seems to change with road speed till its a steady hum at around 70.

It only started after having these alloys fitted though - I'd just assumed it was extra road noise after changing from 225 wide F1's to 235 wide T1-R's.

    Thanks for your comments.

As my 'drone' seems also to come from the back, and the Bridgestones are on this axle, do you think it would be worthwhile swapping the front axle wheels with the rears? I'm guessing that this would prove whether the tyres are the problem or not.

Having said that, I did not notice the noise when I went out this evening!
