    Default Bumper Shine

The car's bumper got repaired a few weeks ago and doesn't have the same shine it did before. I've had it back to the bodyshop twice who said it was because they polished too soon after spraying it and they would take the buffer over it, but that didn't make any difference.

I don't want to give it back to them to spray it again so is there any way i could bring the shine back myself? Ive tried a load of polish and wax but nothing

its because the laquer has been worked when it's too soft...

the only REAL way out of this is a respray again...but there is a slim chance that compounding it with something like Farcela G3 will rework the finish..no amount of wax or polish will touch it..if the bodyshop can't mop it up, it's under the spraygun again for it..

I've had it back nearly 3 weeks and i thought it may have been too late to go back with it, but their work has a 3 year guarantee.

Although i can't afford to be without the car for another week

can't pick up a cheap bumper to keep you on the road??...

you'd be better off getting it done now, while they still admit there's a problem with it and it's their fault..

Also looks like someones hit it again, as theres some more damage in the same area, but it wasn't there when they fixed it as i had my eye right up against where they had fixed it!!!

brillo pad.. like the paint is going into scales... or is it the sanding marks visible again??..

the fact it looks greyer could either be the primer bleeding through or the laquer getting 'milky'...

It looks like sanding marks, so ireckon they have just sanded the bumper to smooth out the damage, then spray it. Probably would have been better if they gave me a new bumper. I'm definately taking it back though, as their letter said "your vehicle has been repaird to pre-accident condition"
