    Default Sat Navs

    I'm considering buying an aftermarket sat nav, I never really need it so I'd be looking at a cheaper version, i.e. not inc europe etc.

    What does everyone have? Are you happy with it and what does it retail?

    Obviously this question only applies to people with aftermarket nav's, so no smart answers!

    Oh, and the smaller the better!

    Tom Tom, as far as I'm concerned. The 1XL is looking good.

    I've got a tom tom for work its the 710 model and is so easy to use, probably more than you'd need,they go for about £180 on ebay,know they retail for over £300.....:thumb;

    Covers all of western europe,if you want to drive that far,but any one of the tom tom range would be the one i'd go for.....

    A tom tom one is all you need. Small, works very well, cheap. I recently paid £150 - I reckon you can expect to find them a little bit cheaper than that leading up to Christmas.

    I'd vouch for Tom Tom's 100%, and my temper is generally quite short!

    I have a tomtom 710. It's a very good little box and has maps of all western europe. I took it over to France this year and it was faultless. I have nav in my vec now so not used it as much. May stick it on ebay if they're going for £180!

    I have a Tom Tom one XL, had it about 3 months now and it cost just under £200. I only use it when I need to but it has been invaluable.

    The only thing I don't like is the stupid suction pad for the windscreen, bl**dy useless thing keeps falling off so I am going to get a brodit clip and holder which should be much more secure.

    With the usual proviso's relating to keep it out of site so the junkies can't steal it.....
    the only issue I've had with my 510 is in cities with high buildings and narrow roads, where it can't get a satellite signal. Lots of Spanish towns are like this, and getting out of Granada was, shall I say, interesting....... maybe an external antennae would help.
