Brake fade !!!!!
brakes faded
just come in from a run out and its the first time i've had brake fade in donkeys
its the first "decent" run the vectra has had on country roads..... are they prone to overheating the brakes?
this was on 5 mile run and they were'nt really getting a lot of heavy abuse
Fried mine on a dash from Banbury to Newport once, They were done before Chipping Norton!
Big brakes from LMF on shopping list!
Always get brake fade during hard driving.
They are designed to slow the car under normal driving or stop it once in an emergency. If you want to race it, you need racing brakes. Steve was quite complimentry about the GSI brakes (straight swap from the local stealers or LMF) but if you have a spare £2000 then you could add half a tone to each wheel arch.
dont get me wrong, i was'nt racing just having a bit of fun, same road i've used for a few years now , the three previous lagunas i've had all coped easily with it and at a lot faster speeds, baring in mind this is a standard 2.0DTI
this was the first time along it in the vectra and it failed hopelessly.

the vectras brakes are fairly good all the CBC ABS EBE etc is rubbish though , me mazda has a stonking set of stoppers , you can put the thing on its nose !

had the 2 old models for 6 years never cost a penny then a new shape tourer had it a year and got rid of it was a total money pit
the laguna is the only car ive driven that i was would just curl up and die , it was awfull
