    Default Winter wheels?

I've currently got Snowflakes on my vectra and i still have my standard alloys (with good tyres) lying in the garage. As the weather's begining to turn i'm wondering if i should fit standard wheels and put Snowflakes away for the winter.Would you's change back to standard wheels for the winter?

What are 235/35/19's like in winter conditions? That's what i'm in two minds about. Will they be all right in the snow or will i end up sliding all over the road?

TBH I never had a problem last year in the snow. I drove up to York and back, 150 mile each way during the worst of the snow. No worse than any other car i've driven tbh.

    Just take it easy.

If I had 19s on the car and a set of 17s in the garage, I'd definitely change them for winter. The 235/35/19 won't be fun if the road is a bit slippery!! - and if you ever did hit a kerb with the snowflakes you'd be gutted!, as well as possibly damaging more then just the wheel!

I slid into a kerb in my last Astra on a very slippery side road, even though I was crawling along, and damaged the standard alloy on that - plus some suspension! - so had to claim on insurance, so best avoiding that potential.

I ran my 19's through two winters and regretted it. Nearly all the damage occurred in the winter.

So, deffo stick your standards back on matey. Better to be safer than sorry.

Yep. I would put the spare wheels on for the winter, then you can,t regret it later.
