    Default Wheel Spacer's

I know this has been done before, so apologies for going over old ground.

What are the negative effects of wheels spacer's, the new wheels i've bought look as tho' they're not gonna sit quite right in the arches(not arrived yet, just forward planning, they may be fine) so was gonna space them 5mm??(They have an offest of ET41)

Now a few question's have sprung to mind...

    1) Are Wheel Spacer's in any way Dangerous?
    2) Will there be any noticeable difference in Tyre wear/Wheel Bearing wear?
    3) Do you need to use extended bolts with 5mm Spacer's?

Has anyone on here used Wheel Spacer's before, and if so were they any good and did they achieve what you wanted them to achieve??

These are the sort of thing i am looking at

They shouldn't be dangerous or a problem as long as they fit properly and the correct length bolts are used. A mate years ago had to use spacers on a BMW 3 series and he initially had problems as he was supplied the wrong spacers (wheel wobble and, worryingly, a couple of nuts kept coming loose until he realised).

The only problem is none of them seem to have the centre boss (the bit that goes into the wheel) so you'll be relying on the bolts to centre the wheels if this isn't done right you'll get the wobbles!

ive used 5mm spacers on my old corsa b, never had any problems with them. with u only wantin to use 5mm spacers the wheel should still locate onto the hub usin the centre bore thingy.
i personaly would get longer bolts if i could get them easily enough.

This was one of my biggest fears. Will measure the depth of the the Boss when the wheels eventually turn up and i change them.

I remember now - that was the problem my mate had with the OZ wheels and the BMW, they tried shims but that didn't help so they eventually had some custom made to fit the spigot. never had a problem after that.
