Default good move? diesel to petrol

just wanting a few opinions on this

My 2004 sri cdti 150 just became 3 last month and ran out of warranty so i decided to change her

I pick up a 2007 2.0t sri nav xp tomorrow, It must have been a demo car because it has everything, electric sun roof front and rear parking sensors, vxr styling pack and 19inch wheels, even has a light in the back lol

I am just wondering if I made the right move, I really like the diesel but the only other cdti with similar spec was £1500 more expensive and did not have satnav.

If driven easy, are the 2.0 still efficient?
Is it faster than the diesel?
did I make a the right choice?

    Thanks for all opinions shared

i think that is probably the only other car i would go for in the range, obviously excluding the vxr as its a lot of money

Good choice, hope you get on with it

Ammonium Nitrate + a few secret ingredients = plastic explosive..... I can see how that would help!!!!!

As for the original question.... I swapped in the other direction... got me a diesel for the economy.

I miss the power and refinement of my 2.0t but I don't miss the 30mpg economy (gentle motorway drivin) compared to the 46mpg I get now!!! There isn't a huge power difference though really as the diesel makes up for the lower bhp with higher torque!

Yes, yes, thrice yes. The 2.0T has a tendency to delight its owners.....who are glad to be truthful about their fuel economy. More and more people are being converted away from the dark side

Hi mate i have just gone from diesel to petrol a 2.0 turbo as it happens yours sounds a corker mate don't forget the pic's its the law but anyway i'm glad i made the move don't use the car much thats why i went the petrol route, not driven a cdti so can't comment on them mine was a dti so BIG difference in performance Computer's saying 28.5 to the gallon thats all i'm saying bout that they do vary. BSR is the main tunner for this engine, check out duncan's signum, lots about the upgrade all in all cracking car . im i glad i got it? oh yes enjoy

Mate, I think as soon as you get it, all your doubts will go away .
Sounds a fantasic car with a great spec .......... its not the end of the world if you really dont like it. You can always sell it .... but I think it'll be fine. I think the 2.0T is a cracking engine and very tunable, if its performance you're after......
