    Default British Gas Homecare

Has anyone got the above cover for the boiler/central heating system.

    https://www.britishgas.co.uk/HomeCareOrderFromHomePage

The warranty on our is about to run out and we paid a small fortune a few years ago with the original system we had when it broke down.

Been looking at the £17.00 a month one.

    Is it any good ?
Are there a load of exclusions ?
Any experiences of them good or bad?

    Ta.

Its only good if you actually need to use it.

We've been paying it for a couple of years - earlier this year we needed a new boiler Pump, 3 way motorised valve, and 24/7 electronic boiler programmer thingy changing ... didn't cost a penny. And they come and service the boiler each year included in the price.

I've got BG homecare and had it for 3 years. If nothing goes wrong this year then it'll start to cost me as I've had them out once each year for one thing or another. With very young children it's peace of mind knowing that they can get someone out next day to get it fixed.

We have had Homecare 200 option for several years now. We initially signed up because the boiler had the circuit board replaced twice in the first year. We had to pay for the repairs initially but the boiler manufacturers did eventually re-imburse the costs as it was less than a year old. We decided to take the Homecare when the boiler warranty ran out because by this time we began to doubt the general reliability of it. Up until one Saturday last month nothing else has gone wrong for several years, when one of the solenoid valves developed a slow leak. Our call was answered quickly and because the leak was containable they offered to send someone out on the following Monday. The valve was duly replaced and system refilled for zero cost. I haven't had time to look up the cost of the parts and labour, but I bet we would have been well out of pocket if we hadn't got the cover. Whats more we have the added peace of mind of the free yearly check (anything wrong during these checks is also fixed free).

We've got just the plumbing and drains cover for about £6 a month. We have had them out a few times with a couple of leaking pipes and they come out quite promptly.
Mind you had a bit of hassle the over week, called them out due to a leak on the feed to the shower and arranged of time of call between 12:00pm - 6:00pm. I arrived home from work at 11:55am and the cheaky bu66er had already been before me, posted a "sorry we missed you" card with the time of 12:10pm on it!!!!! . So a swift call back on to BG and then soon sent him back out later
