Default Amazed at my Insurance Company!

Coming down the motorway earlier i thought i better phone the Insurance company and notify them the car has been modified(Suspension, Grille, Wheels etc) just so in the event of the worst happening, there is no problems. I was expecting to be told £50-£75 increase which i was happy to accept...

When she came back and told me it was gonna cost me £24 i nearly fell out of my drivers seat! I asked if it was £24 per month and she said it was a one off payment! I couldnt get my debit card out quick enough, just incase she had made a mistake!

She then told me she didnt need to know any info on the Modification's(make of Wheels, Grille, Suspension etc), just so long as they have been notified of change it doesnt matter. This, she tld me, is because they do not enhance performance so there's no need to go into too much detail.

I am insured with Adrian Flux BTW.

There are three types of insurance "enhancements"
They are based on how the vehicle differs from the original manufacturing

    1
    Stickers, change of colour, etc.
These usually don't affect a premium

    2
    Accessories and additional parts
This includes things like mudflaps, etc., and are normally added to the risk on the capital replacement cost of the vehicle

    3
    Performance changes
This includes uprated brakes, engine power, etc.
These are specialist risk options and normally change the insurance group of the vehicle rather than anything else
