    Default Internet providers???

    Right here goes:
At the moment im on AOL, and i have just moved jobs (better pay, more responsability, crap hours), but am now being paid on the last day of each month, so need AOL to change my DD date to the first, which accordinbg to them they cant, i set up on the 22 of the month an thats when they take the money out, so im looking at getting a new provider that will take the money out on the day i need them to take it out.

What are the providers you all use?
Are there any decent ones out there?

There are a few good ones, look at www.samknows.com and you'll be able to look up which providors you can get on your exchange - a good starting point.

Personally I'm with Eclipse who I've found quite good, but Plus.Net have started to sort themselves out and Zen and Be seem quite good according to my clients

Zen are fantastic is all I can say! Cost a bit more than the cheaper ones, but their service is rock solid and customer and tech support especially are simply superb. Had to ring tech support on a couple of occasions in the time I've been with them (a few years) and they really know their stuff.

Not sure if you can choose when the DD comes out or not. Mine currently comes out around the 23rd - I can't recall if that was an option given to me or just what it was.

Don't forget about VirginMedia if you are in a cable area ... customer service average to poor but IMHO no ADSL product can match their 20Mb service and the 2Mb and 4Mb offerings aren't too shabby either!

Why not just cancel the DD and set up a Standing Order to go out on the day that's best for you?

Whatever you do DON'T go with virgin if you're not in a cable area. Speeds of 0.1 mbps are common in the evening. It's totally crap. Can't wait to change. Roll on February next year.

b4 u run off to other providers be sure they offer wot u want remember AOL are the only true isp that offers unlimited BB others say they do but the small print says fair usage policy.

try phoning cancellations again and insist if they dont change the date then u will leave and make sure your talking to the irsh call centre and not the indian call centre u seem the get better results.

Aol has a fair usage policy in the small print as well !!

I was with Aol, Nightmare !!!!!!!!!

Now with Eclipse and it is a great service, customer support, if you need them, answer the phone in about 1 minute and no being put from piller to post when you get through. 100% happy with them
