    Default Cr@p bodyshop need advice!

    Hi all,

Further to my accident back in May when i was hit from behind by a female driver then having problems getting the car repaired becasue insurance bodyshop messing me around!

I finally ended up going to a local bodyshop of my choice in August, my insurance company Elephant.co.uk didn't le me use my Vauxhall bodyshop said £850 for labour was too much yet £2300 for their approved repairer was reasonable!

...Long story short i got my car back with the bodywork upto scratch however the paintwork was poor - not the right match (Black Sapphire) looked more of a Browny black but went back to get the bumper resprayed the correct shade which was done eventually but with tonnes of Orange peel here and there! So AGAIN i went back last week to get the work redone and they didn't have any polish so i got rebooked Monday and they've still got my car whci'll bne ready tommorow!

What i want to know is if the job turns out cr4p again am i entitled to use another bodyshop and bill this one for a bumper respray preferably from Vauxhall?

Please let me know i've been researching my local Trading standards for advice!

I don't see why you shouldn't but you should have written to them last time to give notice that if it wasn't done to satisfaction then you would go somewhere else and bill them direct. You must give notice you can't just do it. Call TS and ask their advice

As you went to a garage of your choice I doubt that you'll have any comeback through the insurance company. If you used there bodyshop and it came back rubbish you could have made them send it somewhere else.

As the accident was somneone elses fault I am really surprised that you couldn't take it to the vx dealer. When I had an accident similar a coulple of years back i took in straight in toi the dealer and gotr them to sort everything out. All I did was phone the insurance company for notifacation of what happened and where the car was. Much simpler

The bodyshop wouldnt be Denver Body Repair Centre Ltd Leytonstone, by any chance? Thats where mine went and they botched the paint on mine, I gave up on them and went to a local shop near me. Also they took more than 2 weeks for what they claimed was 3 days work and missed the fact that my radiator bracket was broken.....sorry for rant, but thats elephant.co.uk.....
