    Default Heated seats??

As above. does anyone know if the SRI is fitted with heated seats but just no switches to operate them or do you need to fit heat pads??

If you do need to fit heat pads can this be done to the sri seats? is it easy to do? and does anyone have any idea of the cost?

you'd need looms, switches and pads...they can be fitted to any seats, but you'll have to get a retrimmer to do it ideally..

Most 2005 model pre-facelift cars and all facelift cars, do not have the loom running down the sill.

ALL dash boards are the same in all models so the loom is in place in the dash, but there is no loom from the X plug to the seat bases. So if you fit the heater mats and switches, there is nothing to connect the two.

The easiest way to check if you have the main loom is to disconnect the main plug under the seat and see how many terminals you have, when the leather was done in my old car, only the airbag loom was in the plug under the seat.

Best to check this as it is a very expensive mistake if you have not got the loom.

It will cost you in the region of about £150-£200 for all four front seat pads depending on discount you negotiate.

That's if you go to VX and purchase all the kit over the counter.

There are much, much cheaper option available to you though.

I fitted heated seat pads to all four seats in my old Vec B for less than £20 all in. But the Vec B were on / off and not variable like the Vec C. I am thinking of doing the same on my C, but with just on / off operation. It shouldn't be too difficult to do.

The cost quoted above puts most people off the idea, as it is just not worth it. But for £5 each seat and a little time - worth it.

They are nice when you get into your cold car on a winter morning though.

Leeds Vectra did this to his facelift, and had to fit the extra bit of loom. Have a search for his thread on it to see what it all cost him etc.
