Right, here goes, I've had a fault on the car that the dealers has failed to find 3 times, the reason is because it doesn't do it where the dealer is located, ok, well someone who has spend nearly 10k on one of your used cars through your dealer network could well expect the dealer to flex and be picked up an driven either 2 miles to the ferry and 500 yrs the other side of it so the fault can be at least verified as happening, oh no, too far to come, Skoda used car warranty will only pay for non wear and tear items to be replaced, this isn't a problem to me as such, it's the £2000 in labour charges that they will hit me for having one of their blokes drive the car around for hours trying to find a road that identifies the problem. I've now told them to shove it and I will be Px'ing their car asap and going back to a Vx car.

Other things, the seat fabric looks like a bobbled jumper after 5 mths of ppl getting in and out, the aux belt tensioner is squealing, the exhaust can knock you out with the acrid smell coming from it, the steering loses assistance if you turn it too quickly, it has a design fault that allows water past the pollen filter and on to the main electrics, tyres are wearing in abnormal patterns, add in the pass the buck attitude and it all adds up to mugged off and other ppl lying again about how good they are, this car has had more issues than my last 3 Vx models put together.

    Ta Ta Skoda, VAG.

I'm unsure right now, it'll have to be a vectra, looking at prices I'm undecided as to go for a 2.2 direct auto or a CDTi auto, seems to be about 2k in price difference, and I'm not sure the CDTi will be reliable enough tbh, so the 2.2 direct makes sence given it has no turbo or pump to go wrong.

Surprised about your Skoda - they're generally considered to be good cars around here...

I'm heading to the stealers tomorrow to look at a 2.2 Direct as well. SRi for me though. My Astra is getting to the point where it needs a lot of work done for MOT in Jan. Oh, and the turbo is ****ged.
