The recommendation in the book is 60,000 I think this was mainly to tempt fleet buyers.

That's when mine was first done, I've since had it changed at about 45,000 (car's on about 106,000)

When the 'technician' looked at the old belt & rollers, he noticed it was due for a change.

Most people prefer to do them at around 40,000

Yep I would recomend 40.000 too, even if VX say it will last longer. Best to be on the safe side.

Mine did 60, and the rollers and belt were still in visual, and rolling perfection.

Didi it myself so didn't cost too much. In honesty, i think I wasted my time (and money) changing the rollers as they were in such good condition. ho hum, pigs bum.

On the Z18XE engine VX changed to 40k from 60k. Also maybe getting the water pump changed too at the same time as the cambelt drives that too. It has been known for the pump bearings to collapse under the new belt's tension. Worth it for an extra £35 or so quid imo.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
