What a load of old **** Ste, Blackpool????

Hull is being redeveloped all the time

Manchester, take the gun crime out and it's quite an interesting place

Somebody obviously didn't include Bradford,Halifax and Cardiff in their study.

Number 16 is a surprise... we were looking at houses near the 'chase' at one point...

Also Stoke-on-Trent is an interesting one... I used to go out with my mates drinking there on a Saturday night !!.... always an entertaining event that was !! .... maybe they did their research whilst my mates were in the area !!

They've just tarred whole cities with one big brush - which is complete twoddle.

For instance - I know Middlesbrough very well as it's the closest large town to where my folks and one brother and his family live. Yes, there are some pretty nasty parts of it with druggies, high crime etc. - like many large towns/cities, but there are also some very, very nice parts with very nice houses. Middlesbrough centre is actually one of the nicer town centres I've seen. It used to be a bit of a dump, but not so for many years now - revamped shopping centre, derelict parts have been pulled down and redeveloped on - new cinema, fitness club/gym etc. etc.

Go on the outskirts of Middlesbrough and you can still find the run-down estates where the crime is high and drugs will be a problem, but you're going to find that in practically every large town/city - doesn't mean that town itself is 'a worst place to live', just that particular estate/estates.

I'm sure the above applies to many of the other towns listed in that list. I don't know how they came to their conclusion of the Top 20, but it sounds somewhat flawed to me.
