    Default Hyperthetically speaking....

    IF I were to upgrade the front brakes on the car to the LMF 314mm type, Is it right and propper to do Upgrade the rears too to keep a balanced brake circuit??

    No need to at all - you can stick with your 278mm rears.

    The 292mm rears (standard on a 2.0T/3.0CDTi and 3.2) will obviously add a bit more power for stopping, but it's not worth the hassle, or cost, to change the rear calipers (and other bits involved). Upgrading your 285mm fronts to 314mm will alone give you a big difference in stopping power.

    So the extra braking force at the front does not need balancing then?

    No, no need to balance up. The fronts do the majority of the braking as it is, so no specific need to upgrade the rears - unless you really want to.
