Default Fuel consumption V6 CDTI (Euro 4)

As above anybody any ideas on what consumption I should be getting on my 07 Signum auto ,at the moment struggling to get 30 mpg where as my last vectra a pre-face V6 cdti manual it never dropped below 36-37 mpg is this normal or not.

Doesn't sound right Davie, even for an auto. Trying to think who's got a Euro 4 3.0 auto to give their input.

BTW - edited the thread title to maybe get those owners to look.

Here we go again that old chestnut my car isn't returning what the other bloke says his is routine.

Davie, if you are using the trip comp look at your ave speed figure, if it's above 20 mph this indicated mostly extra urban use, if it's showing 13-15 this indicates lots of urban use, the 1.9 CDTi automatic I had under these conditions struggled to return 25 mpg, on the motorway it was superb returning an average of nearly 50 mpg some days, if your trip is showing 25mph + I'd say you may have a problem, but as you said in the original post, your manual returned 36-37, all automatics have TC slippage and this is where the consumption goes up, personally I don't think there is anything wrong with it mate, it's 6 cylinders of fast car mated to a slusher, hth.

Thats shocking . Never had anywhere near that in mine. In fact never had below 30mpg, no matter how hard I drive it. Usually get around the mid 30's with a lot of town driving. 44 on a run.

I've an 04 plate Signum with the 3.0 V6 & an autobox. I can get up to 46 mph mainly doing a steady 60 - 70 on motorways. It does seem to drop savagely though when doing stop and start town driving. I picked the car up with 46k on the clock and I've heard that the engine 'beds down' and gives better mph the older it gets.

    Hope that helps anyway....
