You can download a 30 day demo, then you have to buy it - and it isn't cheap!! But if all you're doing is basic resizing, retouching etc. then Photoshop is overkill, you need to really be using it professionally to justify the cost.

There are a bunch of apps out there that are freeware/cheaper that will do the basics. Afraid I'm not really familiar with them as I'm a Photoshop user given my profession.

Photoshop certainly is very expensive and I agree with Duncan in that if you are only using it for basic editing then it is overkill ... Adobe do however do a cheaper version called Photoshop Elements which is aimed at the more casual user which you might want to check out ... although as Duncan said depending on what you want it for you could find a free product that fits your needs on the internet.

Try GIMP, it's a Linux app but is also available for Windblows.. May take a bit of getting used to, but I use it for all my pics.

PS Elements has been recommended to me a few times and a few people on here rate Paint.net which is free IIRC.
    Personally I use PS

Had ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS2 for a long time now but it isnt really just for anyone it is complicated, half the features you'l never use. I got a copy of photoshop elements v1.0 with my digital camera but i lost the serial number! So no use to any one.

Photoshop Elements is bit of a bargain, however Paint.Net or The Gimp are vey good alternatives and are freeware so worth a look before parting with any cash.

Just do a search in Google and you'll find them.

Elements is great, most of the CS2 features are there anyway.
