    Assuming you have a 2.0T?

Well I, and others, can whole heartedly recommend the BSR PPC remap. It's not cheap at over £500, but a quality product doesn't come cheap. Have a look at this thread to get an idea on what it does. There a bunch of other threads that have been posted on the BSR kit - just search for BSR. I've now got the Stage 3 - but that's a few more quid on top again than the stage one and kicking out arround 245bhp!

If you want a cheap option I'm afraid I can't think of one that will give a significant difference.

hi Duncan i have read a few threads.. so with the stage 1 kit you just reprogramme the car correct?? how much is this and what sort of power etc?? I indeed have the 2.0T are there no components to change?? exhaust etc? i want to keep the car as standard as possible just quicker. i love the way the car is silent and smooth. i would like a dump valve sound though but not essential....

Stage 1 = Order PPC unit (the programming box), give your chassis number to get correct map in box, plug into car and remap yourself, go drive with big grin on face. Can be reverted back to standard same way for servicing etc. Expect an increase of around 29bhp and around 40lbft torgue. Doesn't sound much on paper, but it transforms the car completely as it affects a whole lot of variables in the car. I was running 217bhp on Stage 1 as my car in standard form was kicking out more than the 175 stated by Vx.

Stage 3 = Get different map, complete exhaust system - 3" downpipe, sports cat and 2.5" pipework all the rest, larger injectors - and even bigger smile on face!! lol Watch license! - I got my first three points in the first week of having my Stage 3!

The Stage 1 is £550. We did have a Group Buy on it but it's just finished.

HERES Duncan's report on stage 1
HERES His report on stage 3
If your looking at keeping it mostly standard then stage 1 is what you want as its simply plug in the PPC it remaps the car and then you drive away. Also it can be mapped back to standard at any time you wish via the same process. HERES the link to LMF who now distribute the PPC unit, power will be different depending on the year of your car though 02-05 is 204Bhp, 06 is 215Bhp and 07 is 220Bhp because of changes made, but expect more than the figures quoted.

EDIT Just looked and you have an 04, expect more than the 204Bhp quoted as BSR's estimates are low to cover their own back.

Thanks guys most helpful... wish could get a bit more though.. what does this do to reliability/terminal engine failure. my last experience with vauxhall was a nk3 astra gsi c20let with running phase 2 chips. and that put a piston through the block... my vectra has only done 23,000 miles.....

Reliability wise it won't cause any harm to the engine as the other variant that SAAB use runs 210Bhp as standard so its well within the limits of the engine.
