    Default Wrong Key Card for the car!!!

    Hi All

    Shortly after purchasing my car in Jan 2006 the steering pump had to be replaced. This resulted in the cars ECU crashing and an new software package being installed, all under warranty. Because the car had been reprogrammed the keys had to be programmed with the new imobiliser codes, and because the radio had to be replaced too that has a new code as well.

    Anyway last week I "eventually" received a replacement code key card via the dealership, but.... it still has all the old details of the car and not the revised codes.

    I contacted my dealership who carried out the work and was informed that all the codes will be the same apart from the radio code. When I asked if this could be updated they informed me it was out of their remit. I then contacted Vauxhall Customer Services and they said there was nothing they could do and that it was the responsibility of the dealership. I asked if they could talk to the dealership and was told no nor would they update the info and send me the correct key card.

    What to do now???

    All advice greatfully received.

    I'd go in and gently shake the Service Manager by the throat!! lol

    Seriously though, if the dealer has done all that work it's down to them to get a Car Pass that reflects the new codes so that the pass is correct.

    what a terrible statement of Vauxhalls customer care. Why on earth they cant phone the dealer, and what kind of dealer wont help his customer in the first place. Makes you think about looking elsewhere for your next car.
