    Default I cant decide...

which head unit to go for.

Big thanks to both micky (armoured farmer) and Paul (vectra 2.0 t) for their help and advice on pioneer and knweed stuff but i'm at a total loss what to go for. I've seen the following 3 that i like.
    1) pioneer - deh - p70bt - £324 for head unit and i pod adaptor

very very nice unit + big advantage of having bluetooth for phone so no need to get hands free kit

    2) kenwood kdc - w6031 - bargain £169 for head unit and i pod adaptor

again a smart stereo with same general performance as the pioneer less bluetooth and a few other control features

    3) alpine cda 9853r £249 for head unit ipod adaptor an i pod cradle

again similar performance to others but features a new design of slide control

such a tough choice. Cost wise i have saved up to get a new one so the price aint the main issue though i will need to get leads for steering controls as well.

I also cant find alpine adaptors on the websites i've checked and the pioneer says it comes with a steering thing and they all say oem steering ready

    HELP

I have heard some pioneer and alpines are compatable with vauxhalls as well so totally confused.

If the steering wheel controls work with the Pioneer then i'd go for that one. Addition of Bluetooth does it for me.

I am not really into ice so don`t know about the techie side, but for looks I am not keen on the kenwood, it doesn`t look as modern as the other two ??

Ditto! I don't know all the specs of the models - but the Pioneer definitely wins on looks! The Bluetooth feature sounds good and it may be the easiest to be compatible with the wheel controls?

I would go for the Alpine. I've used their head units for years in various cars, and even with the standard speakers there's a vast improvement in the sound.

Although I must admit look wise I actually quite like the look of the Pioneer !
