    Default Signum rear view mirror

Hi guys, ive noticed a few strange things to do with my RV mirror tonight, and would like some help with it

    1. how can i tell if the auto dim function is working? i got pretty much blinded tonight for a few minutes then the car behind suddendly had very dim blue lights

    2. the front of the mirror as seen from outside the car seems to have what looks like a small sensor built in, to the right side of the mirror housing

    3. i have a small orange light under the mirror that comes on with the engine, only visible if i put my hand under the mirror

any ideas for any or all of these?

    thanx in advance

    right..

1:.. the beams from behind need to fall on the sensor in the middle of the mirror side of the unit..often the headrests block this, so it doesn't dip..then it does..then it doesn't..

2: thats to tell the unit if it's daylight or not

3: thats the interior 'night' light..to illuminate the gearshift area with a low light level at night..

Cheers mate, seems a strange thing though having an ambient light on the mirror, and the daylight one............. what exactly does it need to know whether its daylight or not, is it that which makes the orange light come on?

They are a great idea these mirrors. Shame i don't have one in mine i hate the blinding's i get. Did they stop doing them in the facelift or is it a model specific item.

Mines got an inside and outside self dimming mirror. Mines a late 06 - early 07 Signum Design.

Works well too, until you look in the nearside mirror and get arc eye!!

the only way i found that mine was working is i turned the interior light
on then at same time look into the mirror and you shud see it gradually go
dark if yours does this aswell then its working ok.
