Talking How Not 2 Stop an Engine

This is what I have been doing today. One vec B that has been recovered in to the workshop non start. Defect note said "was on a red call going down the gear's engine made a horrable noise and cut out now won't start" so got the car on the ramp took cam belt cover off the belt was very slack, Removed belt and found that the tensioner locking pin had snapped

Then I had to remove the head to see is there was much left of the inner gubbings I think the valve's are slightly bent

    All 16 of them

Poor Vec B new engine on order note: It was doing over a tone when it went BANG!!! (not me)

    That was my day really

I do alot of work for South central Ambulance and a some bits for northamptonshire. Some of the motors that come in trashed is beyond belief. You boys have really got your work cut out keeping on top of it

Still managed to get them to fit the V grill in for some colour codeing though

Oxford/Bucks Ambulance have still got an old 1995 petrol M reg transit Ambulance. It went out on service when there was all that flooding. They run lots of fiats as well 1996 1997 things Done around 400,000K. Being phased out now though for the bigger box back ambulances 380000

coo.. if i had a quid for every 16V engine i'd seen do that.....

Still, at a ton, it's to be expected..just think of the number of times the pistons hit the valves before the engine was stopped....

New full engine is it Jay Kay?.. or just a head?..

I was fitting handsfree kits for all Three Counties ERV and how they even get let on the road is beyond me.
Well that is when they do eventually get out on the road after finishing their fags when a call comes in. Shocked isn't even a way to describe the behaviour I saw at various stations.
