Well, yesterday the Signum started to act a little limp wristed, power really backing off after 3000rpm, switch it off and back on again and all is well, until you hit 3000rpm and the same thing happens.
It turns out that this is the device that is causing all the trouble, well this is the new one........
It is the fuel pump, all £2092 + VAT worth!!! (Retail)
So after driving up to Marshalls yesterday, they had it on Tech 2 within 20 minutes, and had a diagnosis within 35 minutes. Due to the cost of replacement, a case number from Vauxhall was required.
Two hours later and the parts were ordered, and work started this morning, heres a few pics of the progress so far.
Finally, here is the culprit!!! The failed fuel pump.
My engine number was recognised by Vauxhall as having a potential issue with the fuel pump, so it was authorised with no problems. Not that I expected any problems.
Not all bad news though, apart from the fact that Marshall's and Vauxhall got on with the job with no hassle at all, the Signum will also get a new cam belt kit and an oil and filter change as part of the job!!!!
They also gave me this as a courtesy car!!!
A 2007 Vectra SRi XP 1.9 CDTi 150, with VXR 18's and a VXR PC Re-map.
I can't praise the dealer and Vauxhall themselves enough for just getting on with putting her right with absolutly no hassle to me.
It's not nice to have you car go wrong, in fact this is the first CDTi Vauxhall I have owned that has gone wrong!!
