Default Vectra SRI (CDTI) fuel Consumption

    Hi,
Last month I purchased a 55 plated Vectra SRI CDTI (120BHP), I am very disappointed with the fuel consumption, I am currently getting approx. 32-34 MPG (very careful/steady driving). My 11 year old 1.8L Escort Diesel gives me approx 44-46 MGP @ 70-75MPh and last year I had a 54 plated 2.2L Diesel Nissan Primera which gave me approx. 40 MPG @ 75MPH.
Could someone please please tell me what is the average as well as fuel consumption (urban, motorway & combined) for this vehicle. I have taken it to the local Vauxhall dealer and they put a computer on it and it did not indicate any problems and they said that everything is fine.
    Thanks
    Saj

32-34 certainly doesn't sound right. I think most guys with a 1.9 are getting at least mid 40's with mixed driving.

As Duncan says you should be at least in the mid 40's.

On a run it'll hit 50mpg or slightly more if driven carefully.

Take it back and get them to reflash the ECU to start with,

    Thankyou for your replies.....
If I take it back to the dealers will they reflash the ECU under warranty or will they charge me??? Last week, when the dealer connected their computer to it, they told me that it is not showing any error codes with regards to the fuel consumption and they cannot make any other adjustments!!!
Does anyone know if they can make adjustments to the fuel/air mixture etc etc.
I get the feeling that the dealer didn't really want to pursure this problem!!!

I also have a 120 Estate and get 430 miles per tank, ish. Can be as high as 520 though. I find these cars vary in MPG quite ridiculously.
