confused Advice wanted re: Mis-advertised Car

    Hi all,

I bought my Sri just on a month ago now and since joining the forum it has become apparent that my car has been mis-advertised as an SRI XP.

    Here is the advert:

2006 06 Reg Vauxhall Vectra 1.9 litre SRi Manual, HATCHBACK, Diesel, Black, CD Player, ABS Brakes, Air Conditioning, Alloy Wheels, Central Locking, Alarm, Driver's Airbag, Multiple Airbags, Power Steering, Title Check, Immobiliser, Cruise Control, Electric Windows. SAT NAV AND EXTERIOR PACK.

The bit that would seem to be wrong is that I don't seem to have the XP but just the 19" snowflakes (at the time I thought the skirts and spoiler etc was what was supplied for the XP ).

If I now wanted to add the XP kit it would cost me money and affect my insurance as I would have to declare the extras.

Is this worth pursuing in any way with the dealer or is it a lost cause?

Bit too late now mate, you have the car and have had it a month, had it been 2 days later then you may have had a chance, but i dont think you would now!

No, nothing extra and tbh the car was still a good deal even if it wasn't advertised as an XP.

Just reading something on the trading standards web site and the most I would get is to give the car back.. which isn't going to happen.

May be worth a try with the dealer though.. never know might offer me something towards the XP (keep dreaming)..

It's worth a try to ask. If you dont ask you don't get. Do you still have the forsale advert on paper? Take it with you.
Did you tell your insurance that it is an XP? If you did then no need to tell them again if you do fit the skirts etc.
    Good luck.

Defo not an XP. Really love the car though, so it's not a big issue..but like everyone says..no harm in trying to get something out of the dealer.

Id go straight to trading standards and have them for it if they refused to supply and fit an XP for you free of charge or offer you an alternative genuine SRi NAV XP car, obvioulsy you'd be better off with a geniune xp so that it doesn't affect your insurance as a mod..
