    Default House Sale !!

Totally peed off,yet again at the 99.9 hour the buyer has pulled out of house purchase,[in fact it is the second time this one has done to us,]in all 3 time it has now happened,Gave the estate agent an ear bashing told them they have not pushed hard enough on the sale front having been on the market for over year now, they seem to rely on the internet as the media for it,told them not in the local papers enough, even a neighbour commented on that.House next door sold within a week !,at £7k more only difference being left hand /right hand so to speak.Given them 4 weeks to do something ,then get on more Estate agency books.
Its not my house but my mothers who is now in a care home @ £500 a week,on top of alzheimers,in the last month she has fallen and broken her hip, which is now pinned, she left hosp on the weds and was back in on the Sunday after having a stroke, goes back to the care home to-day.88 years old with a quality of life that is zilch.
    Rant over

Estate Agents! Really is money for nothing. Have you thought about using one of these internet only companies? It's a set fee rather than a % and by the sounds of things your estate agent isn't doing anything to justify their fee..

Just make sure you go with an independant agent as opposed to a multi national firm.

Independants have to pay their own bills so will work hard, national or small corporate firms dont have to worry as head office pay the bills.

    Take it from experience!

Also see if you can check up on how many properties the estate agents have sold over the past year (and what percentage were sold to developers/landlords etc) as if you want to shift it quickly and its suitable I would go to a developer/landlord friendly estate agents.

Is the current agent well known in the area? Do they have a big presence there?

Sounds like your present estate agent is a bit of a waste of time, good luck with selling the house though.

I'm trying to sell my house m8!

Been on the market for 18 months now, last month our buyer pulled out (couldn't get the final 10% deposit from a relative, day after the move (yeah right)).

We had actually moved half our stuff to the other house, and then bring it all back again.

Wife was in tears for a couple of days.

Estate agents or solicitors should have some insurance or clause to stop people doing this at the last minute and put a hefty fine on them (a mortgage worth)

There's a lot of problems in the housing market at the moment due to repossesions, northern rock and America's crash, v-worried us Brits are on the same road.

I was thinking about changing agents myself but now you have to buy a home buyer pack with costs a packet, better to stay me thinks.

Anyway, good luck with it and hope you sell soon m8!
