cant get my bonnet open

i have had my vectra c in the local garage to get new cam belt fitted and now i cant seem to get my bonnet open the release handle seems to be doing something but it wont release the bonnet help please

Does the handle have a loose feel to it? i.e. does it feel like the cable has snapped?

Have you got someone to press down on the bonnet whilst you pull the open lever, might work.

i dont think the cable is broken cos i can hear it doing something at the catch but still doesnt open it and have also tried getting the better half to push down on it but alas to no avail

you'll have to get at it from underneath then..take the bumper off and you should be able to access the retaining arm of the bonnet catch spring..unhook it from the slam panel and the bonnet will open up..
