Default Have Vx finally admitted there's a fault with autobox and Radiator???

My car is currently at Vx for a 10 min recall job that after 2 hours I've had a courtesy car and come home

I spoke to the mechanic just before I left to ask him to check my gearbox fluid isn't "strawberry milkshake" like and explained that a lot of us have had problems with a bung going and he said that he was replacing 2 bungs that are all to do with the said problem and in his words it's a bastrad of a job to swop them over! He's checked some pipes that go to the gearbox and it seems I'm ok!!!

The only reason I knew of the recall was because GSI 3.2 told me about the bung going and after checking the Vx computer they found the recall so everyone with an auto get ringing Vx up and check for your recall!!! Hope this can save everyone a fortune

Does this affect all Autos. or just certain years?

nope, yours will be fine.. it's cars up to and around 2004 that need the attention i beleive.... they changed the design on the seals after that

My car is a 2.2DTi with automatic box.

What needs to be done to check if it is subject to a recall?

More to the point how can I find out if it has the earlier seals?

    Replies much appreciated.

just a call to your VX dealer to ask if your chassis number falls under any recall notices will suffice....they'll tell you if it needs any work done..

I've got the recall number- 06 12 16. I think if you ask for this it'll help and am sure someone on here can tell us exactly what it is!!!
