    Cool Arnold Clark Linwood

just had my 55 siggy with 9500 miles serviced here and i have been told that my custom is not welcomed there as i fell out with them over putting my car in with a full tank of fuel and getting it back with only half a tank told them car was fuelled on saturday and had only did 40 mile since then but all they could keep saying was don,t know and after a few aggressive words with the general manager and him repeatidly saying are you accusing us of stealing it the air turned blue and i was told to leave
so word of warning i would not recommend this dealership to anybody for repairs

Dont get me started on about Arnold clark mate.
You should have said yes i am saying somebody stole fuel. And told them you were getting the police. See what would have been done then.

Problem we are getting is Aronld clark are takeing over garage's like they are going out of fashion. Customer service is the worst in the world.

Clearly a very understanding dealer! Did you check the milage? I have caught my local dealer driving my car flat out a couple of times now when waiting outside looking at the fore court as they return from the test drive!

With that sort of service your probably better off going else where!

I don't have any problems, in the main, with Arnold Clark
I wouldn't recommend Glasgow North (Garscube Road)
They quoted the wrong problem which Glasgow South had advised me of, but were too busy to deal with
After attempting to fix the problem they couldn't get the car to pass its MoT and advised me about the problem I already knew about

However, some basic rules of thumb

Take a note of the front and rear brake pads, and whether they need replacing
Write the date on the air filter (hidden out of view)
Try to arrive with less than 1/4 of a fuel of tank
Remove EVERYTHING from the car, leaving only the service book in the glove box
Finally, take a note of the mileage, but do NOT reset the readings

Only authorise brake pad renewals if you knew they were needed

Once the service is completed ask for the key and inspect the vehicle
Check the air filter and look for a new oil filter
If the fuel filter was due, check this too
    Check the oil level
    Check the fuel level
    Finally, check the mileage

If the dealership has used any fuel, then it should only be that to perform two road tests, up to 20 miles

Still unhappy, contact VX directly with proof of the complaint

When you hire a vehicle you are asked to sign a check sheet, why not bash up a quick sheet on your computer and get the dealer's to sign it, to confirm Mileage, Fuel, and damage etc etc..

I know its a bit late now, but something for the future. Could even be done with the Vectra-C logo so they know we have a bit of know how about us.

I have myself have had a bad experiance in there and I know people (alot) who have had bad experiences too.

I had a problem when buying a car from them they claimed to with hold £100 from me. the just of their claim is that when I pulled out of the deal, the claimed I had conspired with the person who trading in their Vectra (which I was meant to buy). The owner of this vectra pulled out of the deal he had made with the garage as well - but I must stress that I never ever knew the person let alone what he looked like. But anyway he for whatever reason backed out of his deal.

    And the best bit?

    He was a neighbour!!!!

And if you don't know my street, looking at these two addresses you would think I lived next door to the person but in actual fact they are about 200yards up the street.

I went to the one in Greenock and got it sorted and baught a higher specced vectra (i have now) for the same money but 6 months older.

    Blessing in disguise really!!!

Two things, could the tank sender be faulty, so there is in fact still a full tank there, my suggestion is to go fill up and see what she takes.

Is it a V6 petrol car? if so you would be two gallons down at the time you took it in and they possibly used another 1-2 running it up to temp and testing it.

thats where I bought mine , took it back days later complainin about .... wheel bearing 'hum' , pulling to left , hessitation on accellerating and couple other things ,
I reset the milage when I put it in , got it back next morning it done 32 miles !!! where the f##k did they go with it???
then was told it was tyre noise thats all !
they stuck the front wheels on back and vice versa .
waste of time going in there and it cost me 11 quid to get a courtesy car in the bargain
dont think I'll be back there.
