Default Just got car back from dealer: Spanner light issue solved.

Just picked the car up from the local dealer.

My previous thread detailed the hassle I was having, car going into limp mode, spanner light on then finally the exhaust emissions light came on and would only go off if I turned the ignition on and off @30 times.

Driving fine now, although I got no paperwork back with the car to say what they had done ( not sure if thats normal as it was done under the Vx warranty? ).

Dropped wife off to pick it up and said "Remember and ask them what they did to fix it" as she got out the car.

She got home and I asked her........

    "Oh....I forgot to ask".

All the dealer said was that the "pressure sensor" was faulty and needed replacing.

What pressure sensor would that be then?.

Good news is I can now get the CRD2 refitted on it........Woo-hoo!!!.

Turbo pressure sensor I expect. I had mine replaced too. It tells the ecu what pressure the turbo is putting out.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    Damn.

The spanner light came on again on Monday afternoon.

Got rid of it by locking and unlocking the car???!!!!.

Then, on Tuesday evening, the exhaust emissions warning light came on again and it went into limp mode.

Cured it once again with the "30 turns on and off" of the ignition.

Called dealer yesterday, it went in today.

They phoned this afternoon telling me they were fitting a new ECU to it.

I assume they mean the engine management ECU as I reckon the car has more than one little black box of tricks.

Picking it up tomorrow and I'll know more.

This is starting to get to the semi-annoying stage to say the least!!!.

    You and me both, m8.

Not jumping to conclusions but Harry had a tuning box fitted for some time also, Harry Map etc.

I took my CRD2 off when this issue first started croping up and afterwards when it did it again, kinda thought the CRD2 had nothing to do with it, but alarm bells started ringing a wee bit.

    Hope I'm wrong!!!.
