Vectra Trim Level / Year Strangeness..

The VX 2004 Vectra brochure shows the revamped SXI with sports-style grille/bumper and sports suspension, body-colour side sills and door handles, darkened headlights/rear clusters, smoked indicators and high-level centre brake light, and SRI/GSI style front foglights, designed to externally resemble the SRI, and to give it a more 'sporty' appearance. The brochure describes it as the 'Enhanced New SXI'. It is not at all unusual to have 'revamped' models come on stream before the brochure may suggest they will.

So it looks like mine is somewhere in between the one in the brochure above, and the previous model.. I have to say it does look good with all the SRi stuff bolted on to it..

If the one you are getting is the one in the top photo, that has the same bumpers as mine.
They are the LS / Elite style, not the SRI style.
You can tell as well as foglights are different.

Also has chrome headlights like mine, the ones with SRI bumpers had black style headlights.

There are many examples of people getting Vectras with features from a higher trim. may be luck, or a mistake, or just what was available at the time on the line. VX have produced a number of limited editions, which were base models with stuff from higher trims, such as 'Active', 'Energy' and 'Breeze' which proved very popular and represented good value and looked better than the 'LS/Life' trims they were based on, but they were only available with base petrol and diesel engines. VX decided around 2005 to drop some nice extra bits off the SRI which have not all been reinstated, such as chrome window trim, and the anti-dazzle rear-view mirror/indirect night lighting/auto windscreen wipers combo, which is simple penny-pinching.

Is it possible to do that mod on the fog lights for signum ones with this bumper, or does it all need to change first?

No, you will have to change bumper & foglights.

I remember buying a 1.8i Vectra B LS in 1999 (T Reg) it came with the following as standard:

Nice alloy wheels
Body coloured side strips
Body coloured mirrors and side skirts + rear bumper
CD Player
Electric Sunroof

Shame that Vx stopped doing Xenon's on the Elite models ....

You other option is that the car in the top photo had the door handles replaced with SRi colour coded ones in the past by a previous owner?
