    Default Complaint

I've got a problem but i'm unsure of who to complain to!!

After that woman reversed into me 3 weeks ago, my insurance organised a courtesy car for me through Drive Assist. They phoned me the same day and said i could have a car similar in size to mine, and they would meet me at the approved repairer when i take the car in for repair. I phoned them this morning to make sure this was still as planned and was told they were fully booked in the morning (the car is due in at 8.30) and they don't have cars the same size as the Vectra!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obviously someone is telling porkies but do i complain to my insurance or Drive Assist as it will be a big inconvenience having to drop the car off tomorrow morning, take a 20 minute walk to the bus station, pay for bus fare home and wait in all day for this car to arrive, which will probably be another ****in' Micra!!!

Also i usually have a car full most days, and there's no way i can fit them all in a puddle jumper....

Get straight back onto your insurers! - and get them to get Drive Assist to deliver/collect to you.

Tell them you will arrange your own courtesy car if cant provide one - you dont have to let them sort it but your selection must also be reasonable.

Drive Assist said they would phone me before they leave their depot, which is in Falkirk, but i'm going to phone my insurance once i get the bus home as i can't imagine them driving all the way from Falkirk to here at 8 in the morning!!

I'm really not happy with this as i was sure everything was sorted at the time, not the day before....

If you tell the insurance company dealing with your claim that you are over 6ft you are entitled to a bigger car ie a vectra/mondeo etc.
    and not a crapy micra/corsa

My dad's over 6ft and he's in the car every day, would that be a good reason? He also has a damaged spine, so can't really squeeze into a toy car!!

You pay your insurance for them to provide a service to YOU! Not for you to work around them
As Duncan has said, they should either arrange for the right car to be delivered to the garage for you to collect when you drop yours off or they should collect you from the garage.
When i had my accident i was picked up from home and taken to pick the hire car up. When i no longer needed it they picked the car back up from my home.

This was supposedly sorted at the time of the accident, it was agreed they would deliver the car at the garage when i dropped mine off, so i'm guessing i have a good case for an argument??!!

My mum says i should be happy with what they give me, which i suppose is true, but having a load of hassle over something that should have all been sorted weeks ago makes me quite annoyed

Well i phoned the car company and the guy who arranged the car for me said it was definately not on, and that he would phone the nearest depot and find out what's happening. He phoned me back and said all the cars are on loan and they would be collecting them this afternoon. I said that's no good to me, this car was booked for me 3 weeks ago and i'm left with no transport for the day.

Anyway, turns out it will either be a Land Rover Freelander or a Mercedes, i'm praying its the Merc!!!

Also phoned my insurance who basically couldn't give a toss. All they could do was say sorry and try and find out a time of delivery.
