    Default Tyres Advice

Would Continental Sport Contact 2 - 225/40/18 91Y Extra Load Tyres be OK for my car

Assuming that I get a set of 18" wheels ??

Yes they are. But why 18's? will they fit over your brakes?
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

It's a stealth car! But yeah, those tyres would be fine. You don't need the extra load tyres, but it won't hurt.

Actually... I can give you some RRP figures....

Halfords sell the Team Dynamic Motorsport Pro Race 1.2 alloy wheels for between £820 - £869 which includes tyres.

Demon Tweeks sell the Team Dynamic Motorsport Pro Race 1.2 alloy wheels for around £585 including fitting kit, locating rings and 20 bolts. But no tyres.

However.... Although they LOOK the same as the 888 Race Wheels they are not the same. The 888 Race Wheels have been specially made from Team Dynamics Motorsport under a special order and cost £755 for alloys only (no tyres) and are a DIRECT BORE fixing onto the hub. This means they dont need a fixing kit and are much stronger and more precise. Also the 888 wheels are manufactured to a much higher strength rating, but still legal for road use. Which is why they are more expensive... but still look the same as the Pro Race 1.2... Very light and Very Strong.... perfect for winter use...
