    Default BDilas Flowmaster

    Hi Guys,

I'm new to this site. only just registered.

Due to my fiance being pregnant had to trade in the corsa 1.8 sri for a 06 vectra sri vvt nav. I know the vectra is alot heavier but with an extra 20bhp over the corsa i thought after the 50 mark the cars would be about similar.... but there not . Just wondering if you reckon a flowmaster kit would be of any advantage to me as people on ccuk can't give them enough praise at the moment.

    Cheers Craig

    Vehicle : Vectra

    Trim : SRI NAV XP

    Engine : 1.9 CDTI 150

    Mileage : 72K

Not at all surprised your Corsa is faster. The same engine as in the pre-facelift Vectra 1.8 but in a much lighter car with a quoted 0-60 time in the region of 8 secs. You'd need to go to a 2.0T to better it. Some people on here swear by airbox mods and different air filters and the like. I'm sure someone will wise you up on what works best for the 1.8. BTW to the site, mate

The flowmaster kit is supposed to be very good matey. I'm thinking of fitting one to my wife's 1.8 Astra Coupe.

Have a look in the How 2 section on here to see how to de-restrict your airbox as it makes the throttle more responsive.

A recommended route would be replacement panel filter, or induction kit, also a performance exhaust.

    Don't expect massive power gains.

Myself & Nick (Payney) had a bit of a comparison test with our 1.8's
There wasn't really a big difference between the 2

I have a foam panel filter (ITG) & powerflow cat back exhaust.
Nick had cone filter, larger bore exhaust system.

To be fair Ian the DBilas Flowmaster is a good bit of kit, it's not just a different filter. OK it won't give massive power gains but it does make the car more driveable with better responses through the throttle. Couple the kit with the DBilas throttle body, exhaust manifold and a few other bits and you can push the 190bhp mark, but at a cost of approx £3k.

i'll be putting the flowmaster kit on the Coupe as soon as I can so I'll let everyone know.

I'll wait for your test results then Alex.
Has the Astra had a remap or something?
142 hp instead of 125 , it is the Z18XE engine I take it?
