Default Got a cracking deal on some workshop equipment.

Been wanting to replace the Halfords jack and axle stands I have for a while now as the jack doesn't give me confidence when jacking up high, and the stands are the type where you shove a pin through holes at pre-set heights. Inevitably you want it higher than one hole but without having to jack up to the next one!

After having a chat with Mark (GSi3.2) he put me onto a cracking deal that Sealy had....

This 3 tonne jack (same one that Mark has as it happens).....

....normally retails at £146, but they were selling it for £117 - a saving of 20%, so not bad - but then it got even better. Included in the price of £117.50 (all delivered) were the following additional items......

3 tonne axle stands - much better method of adjustment - (again same as Mark has!)

Creeper (yep, you guessed it! Same as Mark's again - sheer coincidence)

Inspection lamp.... (not the same as Mark's! )

Oh, and a stunt kite! What everyone needs in their workshop! lol

I also got the additional saddle rubber pad for the jack....

....to give a bit of extra protection from damaging anything when jacking.

They all arrived when I was in France so opened them all up today and used the jack, stands and creeper as I was doing something on the car. Used the normal rear jacking points, with the rubber pad on the saddle - which fitted nicely in the cut-out bit of the skirts and sat centrally on the jacking point. Jack made short work of lifting the car up and inspired a lot more confidence than the Halfords one I had used before. Axle stands were sooo much better to use due to the better adjustment method.

So, for £117.50 plus (with free delivery!!!) plus the extra £6 odd for the rubber pad, it was an absolute baaaaaargain!!

So thank you Mr Mark for the heads-up on that offer

I meant to post this earlier in the week to let other people know about it, but with going away to France I only sorted my order out just before I left and the offer ends today!

EDIT: Offer now extended to end of October!!

I used http://www.justoffbase.co.uk/ - I noticed though that the Sealy Summer Promotion section has already been removed!

Maybe worth ringing Sealy tomorrow to see if there'd be any chance of ordering tomorrow (via one of their distributors)? You could say that the offer ended today, and you only saw it, but how on earth could you order it on a Sunday kinda thing. Maybe worth a try? They may also possibly extend the offer?

Yeah... just what I was thinking...

I had my car up on jacks today, cleaning the brakes with brake cleaner.

I use a crappy Halfords jack I've had for 10 years and it really needs replacing. And I have 4 axle stands which only have the holes, so same problems here as well..

Oh well.. I'll give them a call first thing today !!... in about 7.5 hours !!
