    Default Shazz's RR graph

Here's the graph from the Rolling road at Minisport. The car is an Astra Coupe 1.8 16v that I thought was a standard motor (125bhp & 125lbft), but now I'm not so sure.

There is a slight flat spot at 3500rpm that I had noticed whilst driving it. Rob at Minisport reckons it's nothing to worry about and a good remap will get rid of it.

Surely we could all take a statistic from a 'moment in time' during the rolling road run, and extrapolate it to make whatever point we wished. Surely this defeats the object of the rolling road for the ordinary mortals amongst us who simply wish to see how our motors perform against established benchmarks for the engine and against our own expectations, and how they translate on a real road. Call me naive if you like.

Not sure if it's my eyes or the image but looks like a very healthy 140 something bhp, is that reflected with better than average (for a 1.8) fuel economy figures?

The true test of the motor will be at the POD of course, though I'm sure people will momenterally look away when I race...

    Yes matey, she's pushing out a very nice 142bhp & 128lbft.

The POD is not my idea of a true test of a motor dude. Straight line accelerating isn't everything is it? Spoons' car would deffo keep up with yours around a track wouldn't it. If you run with 225bhp, how you gonna get the power done. Spoons will real and probably pass you in in the corners, then I doubt your 225 will be enough to re-take him on the straights.

Still, very nice 'power' from a 1.9 diesel though dude.

Well we went out on the roads and even swaped cars and it made no difference, mine pulled away from Spoons' every time and in every gear. We tested them on the M-Way and got them both to the same speed in the same gear and they were evenly matched low down on the torque peek but once Spoons' lost that peek, it feel back.

I don't just have lots of bhp you know, it's got 20% uprated Eibach shocks all round with uprated lowered front springs but standard back ones to lean it onto the front wheels. I don't have any traction or handling problems unless it starts rainning.

As for Spoons' brakes, I'm still nursing my sore neck from those bad boys.

P.S. I had the optional ESP added to mine aswell.
