Default Anyone recognise this bit? - jacked the car up and saw it lying on the ground.

Jacked the rear of the car up to adjust a couple of the exhaust mounts. When I removed the jack from one side I saw this on the floor....

...been trying to work out where it's from. I used the jacking point to lift the car on, but nothing obvious is missing. The plastic rectangular bit is still there. I wondered if it was off the new Sealey jack I got - but nothing obvious. Then I wondered if it was off nothing to do with the car and I just didn't spot it when I pushed the jack in! lol

    Anyone instantly recognise it?

    EDIT: Mystery now solved.

    D

    I do! I do!

It's a plastic insert from the jacking point. I had the same thing happen when I used a trolley jack last time.

    Do I win anything?

As above D. It just pushes back onto the jacking point. It's to protect the metalwork from the jack.

i.e the rectangular block thing that the scissor jack, if you were to use it, inserts into is still there.

Have you checked all the jacking points in case it fallen out of another one? Or from your wife's car?
