Drunk in Road...

Had an unusual and scary occurance this morning driving home. Passed the local drunk staggering up the middle of the road (in the same direction as me however on the other side fortunately...). Problem was it was up a steep hill with lots of blind curves and he was about to be wiped out by the oncoming traffic down it....

I flashed the first car oncoming as a warning and he did miss him thank god - another 3 cars followed however didn't see what happened as by then I was round the next bend. Someone's day could have been badly ruined however through no fault of their own....

Did think about stopping to check however there was nowhere really to stop safely quickly - would anyone have done so ?

It was a difficult position to be in, but your safty should come first, when safe to do so perhaps to phone the police, not to grass him up so to speak, but to notify them and for his own safty.

Don t think many people would mate to be honest , i would nt. If people are paying attention driving he ll be alright .

Had a similar thing last night, **** decided to just jump in front of me, not cos he wanted to cross the road, just to make me swerve and hit the anchors, two chicks in the back wanted me to turn around and mow him down, can't say I didn't want to either, I prayed some karma to him hoping he'd either get hurt by another car or someones fist.

I wouldn't stop. I'd quite happily phone the police and ask them to remove him from danger though.

Oh....and anyone that would be inclined to do that....please emphasise to the police that he's NOT injured yet, he's NOT ill and he WON'T benefit from ambulance attendance. They like to pass off as many of their idiots onto us as they can...

Same sort of thing happened to me few years back in my 406 estate.

At a set of lights a group of about 6-8 guys just walked out in front of me, was green for me. They just scattered, some ran on, some stopped, i have no idea how i found a path through them without hitting any.

I bricked myself at the time because of a silly drunken meths drinking git that decided to run out in front of me.

Still see him around my local area and he's still at the same thing, jumping out in front of cars in the hope that he can grab some cash as compensation.
