Yeah no worries jamie wasnt having a dig just wanted to point out that i was not going to do anything illegal in fighting the ticket. I personally feel i have enough grounds to stand on without making anything up. At the time i parked the car there was no cars beside me, but the car park was filling up. What zorro said does happen alot and again i would feel you can appeal a ticket for those circumstances as well. From my point of view i did'nt take any money away from the council by taking two spaces and in my eyes i parked the car out of the marking bay but fairly outside of it. Just feel that it was a uneccassary ticket.

Glad you come to a decision, hope the debate heped you do what you believe is best. As i commented you was the only one there and the only one that knows what happened, so only you know what the right thing to do is.

good luck mate. Keep us updated

Could'nt agree more with that zorro but unfortunatly not every warden does that. A police officer would be more likely to point that out to you(probably becuase it easier to point it out rather than fill out loads of paperwork).

Very true. I don't even bother with car parks... they are more trouble than they are worth.... I hardly ever give out parking tickets anyway!!

Had two traffic wardens in Hull today, tw@ts where hunting in packs. I managed to pull off in time as i could see them approaching me.

I work along side the Police Forces and a majority of "Good Cops" wouldnt bother you and would rather tell you than book you, so i agree with Jamies comment

This is my appeal letter. Hope someone can see my point.

I am writing regarding a parking ticket I received on the 29/9/07 notice number DC10575***. Whilst I completely agree that I have broken the rules by the letter of the law, Id like to think that the spirit of the law would see that my actions had no affect or implications on anybody else whatsoever. The Position of my motor vehicle on the day of the offence did not deprive revenue from the Dacorum Borough Council as the vehicle was only affecting one parking bay ,as you can see in the picture attached. Neither did it cause obstruction or cause any other problems where it was parked.
As you can see in the picture, the spaces are not very generous. The rear end of my car was no more than two inches from the wall and as you can see the front end is still overhanging the bay. Because of this I was merely trying to preserve a very much cherished motor vehicle that has been worked hard for from the many careless and disrespectful motor vehicle users.
I would ask that you look at this case favourably in the light that it was not my intention to deprive the council of any revenue, or the public of any parking spaces

Do not issue a PCN unless more than 2 bays are affected.

You have only affected 1 bay so its an invalid ticket.

The vehicle is not parked within the marked bay
As such, check the terms and conditions as displayed at the Car Park AND within the terms of those for the parking permit

However, there is no parking bay directly to the left of it, and as such is then parked in, on, or over the public walking area of the car park

I would write to the local authority and appeal the ticket, with the photo as evidence
Furthermore, park the vehicle within the bay and clearly demonstrate the area to the left of the vehicle is not a parking bay nor a public walking area

Its sound a little bit too mushy, stick to the facts and dont assume that a real human will read this. You may have parked outside the bay but i dont know if you have broken the law, from what some of the others say you havnt.

Yeah i kinda see what you are saying. I am going to send it tuesday night becuase it doesn't say on the back of the ticket where i should send the appeal, so ill have to ring up and ask.

Any thoughts on what i should add or edit from the letter would be much appreciated
