Default Droning sound from front near side

For the past couple of weeks I've noticed an annoying droning sound coming from the front near side, it sounds the same as I've had in other cars (from the rear) when there's a bearing gone, more noticable on the motorway/at speed. I've had two new front tyres fitted today and the noise is still there. Anyone got any ideas?

Likely to be a bearing/hub - possibly could be the tyres. Big Phil had similar noises coming from his wheels - ended up replcaing all four hubs and tracked it done to tyres I believe.

Cheers. I've got an MOT first thing tomorrow, I'm just hoping it will get through and I can look at it after.

Tried it in there without her and it was still the same

Car flew through the MOT unscathed this morning so I'm going to get to a garage next week to get the bearings checked over.

    Default bearings

Hi i had that droning nose on my veccy and got my local vd to look at it.
they said it was my bearings mmmm i thought shouldnt cost too much i thought, £486 for the pleasure because they were a complete unit with the hub + £75 just to get it on the ramp.
anyway managed to get it done cheeper for £292.
my instant thought was Vauxhall sure makes a packet on that one.
whatever happend to just popping out the hub cap and replaceing the bearing.

Got this on my veccy at the moment!! Humming noise about 40-50MPH,it sounds like its coming from the O/S/R wheel but i can not tell. When its making the noise it humms and it sounds like the wheel is rubbing against something??

Also when i go over a bump in the road there is a noise from the rear like there is something loose?? Could be some kind of bush?

first off, check the inner edge of the tyre for uneven wear..if it has then a new tyre should cure it..if not, suspect the bearing...the bump noise could well be the upper arm bushes or the antiroll bar mount bushes...all need to be investigated before just swapping things over..
