help!!! petrol in to diesel ...

Went to shell to day to fill up as its pay day and hear that they now do the Vpower Diesel..
Anyway got to the pumps and looke down.. one people v power and one diesel V power
Turned to undo filler and reached back with out looking... Yes you guessed it i grabbed the petrol... Put it in and started to fill up/./

After about 5 liters looked down and arrrrrhhhh petrol stamped on the handle...Stopped and finished filling up with the V Power Diesel

I am hoping that the 5 liters of Petrol will not effect the engine or anything.....

I have done 35 miles since fill up but not noticed anything juddering or anything..

Any advice i would be greatfull

You should be Ok, someone else did it a few weeks back just keep topping up with Diesel for the next month,

Anyone know if the petrol and diesel mix to dilute the petrol, or does one float on top of the other?

keep topping up the tank, as the diesel will dilute the petrol, the more diesel you put in the less petrol v diesel there will be.

Done it myself m8 As has been said, just keep topping up regularly for a few weeks to dilute the petrol.

Must be something in the water, i did the same thing yesterday. What a muppet I felt!!!
had to push the car off the forecourt (didn't wanna start it) managed to get a mate to tow me to a friends garage. Spent the evening lubricating myself and drowning my stupidity!
Then got said friend to empty the tank for me and topped up with V-power DIESEL. All in all including fresh tank of diesel, it cost me £110.
