confused Fitting a LNB to a sky dish...

    I've bought a 8 way LNB for a Sky mini-dish off ebay.

Does anyone know if it as straight-forward as it looks to install actually fit it, or are there any hidden complications??

If it fits on the pole it should just be a direct swop for a single LNB.

I've seen them on ebay that say you simply pull the plastic peg out slide off the old LNB and slide the new one in put back the peg and away you go,

i changed mine to a quad LNB, the only minor issue I had was I got the twin wire, which isn`t as thick as the single so the plugs didn`t fit as well, i would reccomend using the single cable ... Just ran the wires, took the old lnb off, fitted the new one, plugged in the boxes, crossed my fingers and switched it on, all working no issues ...

Yes this is an OCTO LNB (1 LNB with 8 outputs) which means you can connect 8 sky digiboxes/satellite receivers.

I'd assume it's main use is for multiple flats/house of multiple occupancy etc. May be you can watch different channels on different receivers?

Don't think there's any extra gain, should be same quality as normal LNB.

As mentioned, is a direct replacement for the existing LNB, although there should be some way to specify which LNB output is received by that digibox.

Well in the old days, you had to select which LNB output you wanted from your receiver eg. A or B (for twin LNB's), so if you get no picture, you've selected output B when the RF lead is attached to A and vice versa.

I assume in this OCTO LNB, all 8 outputs are switched on all the time so no matter which output you receiver is plugged into, it will work.
