You need a proper foam attachment of some sort - the built-in detergent one on the Karcher simply doesn't give the effect you'll be after. Karcher do a small foam attachment which works not too badly, and it's a helluva lot cheaper than the fancier ones out there.

Have a look on ebay etc. as the normal retail price for this is IMO a bit steep. I got mine through a guy on Detailing World for something daft like £6 = P&P, so might be worth a look over there.

don`t put it through the pressure washer, you could burn out the motor as it will foam up inside and the motor will not have the resistance it needs. I got mine from c&s , it is a great toy, I mean tool and you don`t need to touch the car, great stuff !!

what tommy is talking about is a contact-less wash, which is what we should all aim for as it negates the need for any scrubbing, which is where potential for scratches and swirls is introduced.

with the snow foam you apply it to a dry car, it'll 'cling' to the car longer that way, whereas with a wet car it'll slip off quicker. leave the snow foam to loosen the dirt and grime for a few minutes and then pressure washer off. providing that the car is only lightly dirty you should be left with a squeky clean car...in theory, hence no need for a wash mitt.

NOTE: i've never been able to get away with this, maybe because i only use snow foam through a gilmour and not a foam lance (been toying with the idea of getting one).

the Karcher bottle attachment doesnt fit onto the halfords lance, I got one to try and it was a different fit, I couldnt do it with any of the adaptors I had either. I got the bottle from Halfords for a tenner

if you're after a 'proper' foam lance for your pressure washer then i'm sure autobrite do a large enough selection of attachments

Or a cheaper option is a 'superspray' not as much snow as Autobrite but it's only a tenner on ebay and doesn't do a bad job.The trick is to keep the car fairly clean, that way it takes less time and less products when you have to wash it.
