    Default NCDC Sat Nav upgrades

Oh no not again some will be thinking.

Slightly different take on the old threads.

I've got an early 04 Elite with the standard CCR2006 fitted and am looking to swap it for the NCDC 2013 or 2015. I'm well aware of the Tech 2 matching issues with the colour screens.

However the elite contains the GID as standard as part of the electronic air con and trip computer. This is in theory compatible with the 2013 and 2015.

The question therefore comes as to whether the NCDC 2013 can be fitted and then simply Tech 2'd in with a minimum of effort? - Any ideas

At some point i'll get round to the colour screen upgrade assuming the basic 2013 upgrade is possible but basic nav and extra CD random functions etc are useful starter for 10.

Assuming 2013 is possible can the 2015 be fitted?

The chances are the CANbus plugs for the telematics unit will be missing (would leave a gap in the CAN ring if not present). So the question is whether the NCDC 2015 would work without the carphone functions or whether it is going to complain or not work at all?

    Default

I'm preparing a little project in my vectra C. It has a GID and a cdr 2005. Cdr 2005 and ccr 2006 are not can bus radio such as Siemens ncdc 2013/2015 or CCRT 2008 radios are. So when you put one of these radio types on your radio plug you will not have any steering whell remote control fuction and no information on your display about radio fuction. You must link 3 can bus lines (1 High speed C, 1 Med speed-High,1 Med speed-Low) from ECC blue plug to the iso radio plug. Also the Colour info display has a second 12 pin connector for signals about navi information. You must link 6 cable from this connector to the Iso radio plug. Also some cables from the radio plug must be removed from it. It is not a hard operation but the very small place that you have to work and the can bus lines increase the difficulty! Also My GID is not compaltible with any other radio except Cdr 2005 and ccr 2006.
