    Default Alpine unit in vectra?

    guys i have an alpine head unit which has an ipod socket in it and i wanted to put it into the vectra. now i know i will need the facia adaptor thats nfine but whiat about the steering wheel controls do alpine make a lead so they will still work? if not what manufactors make the leads so i can get a new head unit as i really like the steerin wheel controls. also if i take the radio out what will the display show?

    hi m8 i tried for a kenwood head unit for the same controls and as was told that they wouldnt work only the dash display

    sony do an interface for the controll's to work, i know that cos i have one, was told that alpine do one too but realy expensive, expect about £80 - £100, mine was £50, have a look on the tinterweb for blue chip audio or car electronic's as these were the peep's that told me and sold me mine

    I've been after one of these for a while & I spoke to Alpine about 3 weeks ago, there is a unit in testing that will do both display & Steering wheel controls. I'm not holding my breath waiting for it though

    well i have the lead ordered so that bits ok so the controls on steerin wheel will work and also the adaptor unit and at the same time i will do the blue tooth kit. now im just wondering what the display will show?

    which display have you got? is it the yellow with black text showing multiple info, or just the two line display?

    when i fitted my aftermarket headunit i didn't bother with the display adapter, as all i lost was the top line of information, where it says whether i'm listening to radio or cd.

    BTW i've got the yellow screen with small black text. i think that's the one you'll have aswell.

    i hav an alpine in my car, hav the steerin wheel lead 2, works well, display shows everythng apart from track info r radio station. hav thought bout the display adaptor but nt sure if its worth it, steering control adaptor cost me 60 quid, nt that bad.
