But before I say yay or nay -
are all xenon units AFL and dark tinted?
And can you retro fit AFL to a non-AFL car?

All Vectra SRi and GSi Zenons are tinted, Design and Elite are not. All Signum Zenons are silver (2006 facelift Design Signum are all tinted)
AFL only came out within the last 12 months or so. Anything is possibel with regards to retro fitting items, but AFL is a major upgrade to an non AFL car, the steering rack has sensors which would be a nightmare.
I would'nt do it myself.
OK - I'll find out some more info - so if they are a pre-2004 non AFL Xenon (tinted) it would be a relatively simple job (I hope)
ps - how would I know if its an AFL unit.
Is this an AFL one?
Confused!!
the simple way to tell is look to see if there is a small bulb inside the main headlight area. This lights up the corner you are about to trun into when you indicate.
No little bulb, no AFL
OK - its an AFL unit. I was trying to work out why there were 5 bulbs!!
If thats all AFL does - I could for-go the bulb working, but retain the rest of the unit working? Sorry - loads of questions - but I've been offered a set for silly money.
Just realised - If I buy these I'll have a total of 7 front lights. hmm - time for an ebay session.
I'm sure I read somewhere that they can't be retro fitted. Something to do with the Vx canbus system.
Contact 'Green Growler' or 'Leeds Vectra'; they have looked into this in detail.
Is that AFL or Zenons in general??Originally Posted by AJA
I'll send some pm's.
I'm really not sure, have a Q & A session with these two and they'll sort you out.
